Big day on the bike

Main Road entrance to San Leo

Well G’Day All: i had a big day on the bike today,

I planned a trip to a place called Lago di Andreaccio, near Soanne. The day started out flat with about the first 20km nice and flat, then the climbing started, first up to Verucchio, to the north of San Marino, then a nice descent down to the valley road for about 5km before the turnoff to San Leo, then another 5km of river valley undulating road before a 5km climb to San Leo, average about 6%. At San Leo i had done 50km and about 1,000mt of climbing, then after a mars bar and a espresso, it was another 8km climb to the top at Villagrande, at another 400mt of climbing, then a short descent of a few 100m before a 1km climb then a 5km descent into Soanne. Once finished scouting around then it was retrace my steps back to Villagrande before a great 10km descent to Monte Cerignone, but then disaster, not me but the Cannondale, i broke one of my rear YELLOW spokes!!! Luckily i limped home along a great valley road that was mostly down hill that followed the Conca River, once home i had clocked up 6 hours and 120km and about 2,000m of climbing, FEW!,

Check out the latest photos on flickr.

Stay tuned for another edition soon,

Cheers

G’Day All

Marina and Chris, Piadina chef’s!

Well hasn’t Scotty done a great job on the design of the newer Knobbysports website, was a little doubtful to start with but the final edition has come up a treat, congrats.

Well had another great day on the bike today riding with a small but good group of germans to San Marino via a few nice climbs around Montescudo, Mercatino Conca, Montegrimano, Fiorentino and finally San Marino itself before a great 15km descent and then another 20km of fast valley road back in time for lunch.

Back on the bike sunday for the panoramica tour, possibly to Pesaro and around to Tavullia, Valentino Rossi home town and a coffee.

Checkout all the latest photos on flickr and when i have a moment i will upload some video on youtube when i can work it out.

Twilight Series Rnd 1…

Posted on 16th April 2008 by admin in Reports

Went off without a HITCH!

Thanks to everyone that showed up, it really was a good nights racing thanks to you.

25 riders showed with lights and leg warmers to see what Bushy Park looks like under a blanket of darkness.

As to be expected lap times were down compared to usual, but without the stopwatch by our side, we wouldn’t of known. Michael Bailey set the benchmark, it almost looked like he had an engine hidden somewhere as he whipped his hardtail around the course, finishing the night with 9 laps.

There were some great performances out there, but I might have to hold you in suspence because I’m struggling to read Damians hand writing on the results sheet,  so when I get this rectified I’ll continue the speal.

Results will unfortunately be delayed due to legability problems lol. but should be up within the next couple of days.

In the mean time please look at these SHOCKING pictures that I took.

Thanks to Damian Richmond, and Paul Consto for keeping score, and we hope to see you back at Bushy park in 2 weeks time.

RESULTS ARE UP!

Not Long Now!

Posted on 15th April 2008 by admin in Events

With only a couple of days till the start of the Knobbysports Twilight series, I wanted to encourage those that have never experienced night riding before that the Knobbysports course is the ideal place to get started.

Bushy park offers wide open spaces, no blind corners and a low level of technical experience is all that’s needed.

Damian Richmond will be bringing 3 to 4 sets of high end lights that can be borrowed for the race, handed out on a first come first serve basis.

I’ll be there testing out my new Night Lightning BLAST, it’s been a long time since I’ve hit the tracks in the dark, but am looking forward to it.

See you there.

Change of Website.

For those that have seen this new site up and running for the last couple of days, I would be interested in knowing what you preffered; the old one or this one?

From the feedback I have received the old one is more preferred so I will be chucking it back up here early in the week.

REMEMBER:

As darkness descends, this Wednesday marks round 1 of the KNOBBYSPORTS TWILIGHT series, so charge up those lights, get those warmer clothes out of the closet and see you at Bushy Park Central 6:00pm Sharp!
