Hi all,
There has been alittle damage to the course, due to some trees that have come down over the track. There will be a working bee on Sunday the 1st of November at 3pm, so bring down your gloves, shovel, and a chain saw? Racing will now start on the 4th of November, sorry about the later start date everyone! Everything else is still the same any questions you can ring Damian on 041 5544 660

Results from Wednesday 19th November are up
A couple of riders who raced in the wrong time slot have been marked with greyed out laps. These guys were in the second race, which ended up being a little shorter then the other race and missed a lap opportunity.
Vise Versa with two riders in C and D grade, who competed with A/B grade and had the time to do an extra lap. Their last lap time has been removed from the results as this would of sent them to 1st place and based on their lap times if they’d been in the later race would have been further down the field.
I have just posted 2 weeks worth of results up.
Results have been posted for Saturday Morning 25/10.
Cheers ScottyL
Hello.
Last night capped off another successful night of racing. Numbers were well into the 50’s and despite the arctic temperatures the pace was hot hot hot!
A and C grades hit it out first. In A grade the Peacocks made it a father and son outing by dominating the podium with a 1st by young James and a 3rd by not so young Craig, separated only by Karl Peel.
C grades race was not as straight forward. With grade allocation up the creek, it was any ones guess who would rise to the top and take honours… SANDBAGGING honours. It was Dan B who rose to the top putting in faster times then half the B graders. Marcel Geelen and Jamie Nightingale rounding off places.
Then after a slight intermission with results it was time for grades B and D to head out for their punishment. This group was the largest, and full of newbies too, which made for some very interesting racing. I apologise if the results are out in these class’s, they look like it to me! Janine did a fantastic job with the first time slot, but I now know there’s no time for talking while doing the scoring, you will miss something.
B grades Peter Pink showed qualities that could well earn him a position in the A graders group, taking podium spot numero uno, while Russell King and Nick Kelly sprinted home for places 2 and 3.
Racing in D grade was just as fierce! With only a matter of seconds dividing the top couple of places these were the winners: 1st David Vavasseur, 2nd Matt Henderson, and 3rd Richard Toth.
Thanks for comming and we hope to see you Saturday, bright and early
Thanks to Janine Vavasseur for creating the results page, and doing the good timing last night. Results are UP.
Cheers ScottyL
Hey all.
I Hope this morning went well, and fun was had by all, feeling the heat now, this morning would of been fantastic. Myself, I was putting in some hard efforts with the coach in Officer, smashing the pedals in pursuit for good form.
My sources for information on this mornings racing are that of Mum and Dad, who by the way cleated up for the first time this half of the year, and Mum (Heather) raced her first race ever, which wasn’t a bad effort considering she’s probably ridden maybe 5 times this year!
Just by looking at the results, it looks like the course will need to be extended again, people are getting too fast. Any ideas? drop us a line in the comments section for everyone to read and contribute to.
Thanks to Janine Vavasseur for fiddling with the timing program and results sheet, touching it up, giving the riders all the info they need.
The Results are up and waiting to be dissected on the RESULTS page.
Enjoy the rest of your Weekend
ScottyL
Hey everyone.
Last night turned out to be a little bigger then expected, just shy of 40 riders.
I saw many unfamiliar faces last night, which is exactly what we want, being MTB racing promoters, this is a good result for us. So thank you and congratulations on your own behalf for getting down and putting rubber to dirt, and for some being the first time.
On our behalf (the organisers) it was a little bit of a shambles, but like every season, it does seem to take a couple of weeks to get things running smoothly. You might of heard that our trustee generator bit the dirt, and couldn’t supply the juice required to keep the laptop running and lap recording sufficient. We recorded manually but the poor lighting caused some problems with that later in the day.
We send our apologies for our inability to produce extensive results at this stage, but incase you were wondering ‘who the hell’ that fast guy/girl was at the front of your grade, here are the podium place getters.
Any disputes, drop us a comment below and I’ll change things asap.
A GRADE:
1st: James Peacock
2nd: Peter Kutschera
3rd:Jason Spensor
B GRADE
1st: Russel King
2nd: Nick Kelly
3rd: Kieran Largey
C GRADE
1st: Carl Pell
2nd: Matt Davis
3rd: Rod Arndt
D GRADE
1st: Ivan Tarrant
2nd: David Vavasseur
3rd: Janine Vavasseur
4th: David Blair
Some of these trophy hunters will be moving up a grade next week. We still have a couple of weeks to play with grading as points aren’t going to be introduced until The first week of November.
Finally we have decided to race 2 time slots; 6:30pm and 7:00pm in order to minimise conjestion, so be prepared! You may not always be racing the first time slot, so bring the appropriate warm clothes to chuck on if you are put in the position of waiting for your race to start.
Cheers ScottyL
P.S A little birdie tells me racing this Saturday at the PINNACLE CYCLES crit my be in reverse? I myself have ridden in reverse, it is quite enjoyable.
Yes there was… in Canberra for the SCOTT 24 Hour, (where I was).
But there was also some rubber being burnt locally for the first time in a while, at Bushy Park.
I got home from the ACT a little while ago and got on the phone to Pinnacle Paul to see how the 1st round of the Pinnacle Cycles Saturday Morning Crit went.
This is what I gathered from the conversation;
Numbers were just under the 20 mark, and most were new faces. The new course (with minor changes) was received well, and fun was had by all. The grades and riders are still being sorted over the coming weeks, along with the timing, but signs are good.
I didn’t receive much race specific info, but from what I did here the race between Rohin, Peter, and Tim was fast, and exciting to watch, with a matter of a couple of seconds splitting 1st and 2nd.
1st:Rohin
2nd:Pete K
3rd:Tim
I will aim to be at the course on Wednesday to get some timing issues out of the way so we can see who’s burning laps faster then whom and by how much.
Cheers ScottyL
P.S thanks to Harng Goh for this GPS of the course.
