What rain, we didn’t even see a drop!
Another great night of racing, four well fought out races and the times are getting under the four minutes for the a graders.
Well done to all and it was good to see some old faces from the bushy park days.
See you all next week

The first crit for 2010 was held last night. The turn out could be described as compact, but that didn’t stop racing. Well done to all riders for racing, even when the option was on the table not to. A grade was taken out by Steve Van Dyke, B grade by Leigh Barrett and D grade by young Richard Ly.
Racing Resumes next week Wednesday 13 Jan
6:00pm rego for a 6:30pm start
What an excellent night’s racing we all had, the heat was hot but some of the racing was hotter across all the grades. Firstly a huge thanks to Scott Liston who set up the bunting and the FELT bike display (note the blatant sponsor mention). All the grades had some great racing and enjoyed the cash prizes handed out. D grade was a closely fought tussle between Richard Ly and Shane Calvert. Mick Jamieson and Felix Smalley swapped positions with Steve Hona and Matt Clipstone but coming into the last lap Mick and Felix held off a strong finish from Steve. With Mick just edging ahead in the last half a lap, awesome racing guys. In B Grade we had some visitors from NTIS, (thanks for coming guys) Mitchell Vanetti held of a very determined Michael Gray with Dyon Balding coming in for third. It was also a very good race and it is great to see the like of Michael coming up through the grades and setting times that could now rival some of the A graders. Then the A graders lit up the track (ok dusted would be a better description) with three riders taking the lead fairly quickly and it was evident that the cash was going to taken by one these riders. After the second lap Scotty was a little unfamiliar with the slight track changes (was he there when they were made earlier that afternoon, I think so) and miscalculated corner so that left Peter Kutchera and Luke Fetch to fight it out, and they both swapped lap for lap until Luke squeezed Peter and made a 6 sec gap on lap 8 and that extended a few more second on the last lap, great racing guys and congrats to Luke for taking 100 cold hard from us.
Drive carefully over the festive days and see you all the 6th JAN….
Thanks for everyone helping out and we look forward to seeing you all fit and well in the new year
Keiren we are thinking of you.

Thanks to all that came down last night for the final race for 2009. There will be a little bit of a break now while everyone goes on holidays, but we’ll be back early 2010 to race out the rest of summer until the light eludes us.
Congratulations to Luke Fetch for taking the cash, now $100 richer for his half hour effort, mission accomplished, Scott has been humbled!
Results aren’t quite ready yet but as soon as they make it to Scott’s inbox, Im sure they’ll be put straight up, he’s very efficient that way.
So on behalf of the Knobbysports crew, enjoy your Christmas break, eat and drink heaps, SAFELY! with the intention you’ll loose whatever you put on at the next Knobbysports MTB race
peace out.
The temperature is expected to be high for today, around 35 celcius. The race will be run and won whatever happens. When I was there last week turning the die hards away, I discovered that by race time bushy park had cooled down quite substantially!
Remember to bring plenty of water, and always ride within your own abilities.
See you out there.

Firstly this is a call out to all you fast riders… a plee for your assistance! You see every Wednesday Scotty Liston talks the talk, he reckons he’s unbeatable around the Bushy Park Track!

This is a call to A: Put Knobbysports Loyal Scott Liston back into his box and B: put on one of the biggest, most exciting races a local Criterium has seen!
MARK it in you diaries $100 for the fastest overall if there are more than 10 A graders. alternately there will be $50 on the line, 2nd and 3rd only win their entry fee back… They call it SHEEP STATIONS!!

23/12/2009
Hi all
Well looks like tomorrow’s (16/12) gonna be a scorcha!
Such extreme weather conditions are more likely to raise serious health issues, we are left with no option other then to cancel racing for that night.
——————————————–
The general rule is: 36 degrees and over = NO RACING!
My advise is to get up early, sneak a ride in where its coolest (Mt Dandenongs tend to keep coolest) and be ready for next weeks Knobbysports “BURNING LUNGS” Christmas Bash.
